Thought I'd start a new topic.  Please post comments about the match here for others to see.

My take on the match:

Great match.  The conditions were spot-on (I sure wasn't... sheesh!).  The wind was a mild 5 mph most of the day and the temps got pretty warm at over 60F.  I didn't get a final temp but I bet it was around 65F.  We shot a new stage 1, with a cold bore shot and a diminishing returns type of paper target.  The CBS was a great test.  The berm to shoot from was great - it not only allowed us to engage the CBS target, but also a lot of the steel before moving on to the 100yd test.

Yours truly zeroed that stage, but we had a couple of the shooters get 4 points!  Good shooting!  (This was a 100-yd paper with 2moa, 1.5, 1.0, .75 and .5moa target dots - you hit it, it's worth one point.  Stop anytime, but if you miss... you zero the stage.)

The rest of the match ran the remaining 6 field course stations.  It seemed things went much faster today, we got done promptly.

Again, thanks to the Augustis Ranch and thanks to all the competitors that came out.

Now, what was the hardest shot?  Easiest shot?  Things you want to see different?

Thanks Rich and Bret for hosting a fun and challenging match.

This course of fire is very good as it stands, IMO.  Diffculty level is reflected in scores.  I don't really see any glaring problems with any aspect of the course of fire.  I enjoy the friendly and educational atmosphere.  You know how to keep it fun, and relaxed, yet still quite challenging, and safe.

Had a great day.  Met some nice folks, and enjoyed spending the day shooting and talking with them.

Thanks,  Shane

added a link to more larger pics of the match  anyone welcome to copy pics as they like

Agreeing with Shane, the course is set up great.  The targets are fairly easy in places and just hard in others.  The narrow popper shaped targets were the hardest for me.  Windage is always a tricky thing.   Wind can do wierd things in this course.  The atmosphere of the course allows everyone to talk and learn way more than ever shooting on your own.  One shoot here is worth a hundered on my own for the learning curve.
Anyone wanting to see how "good" they are or wanting to learn how to shoot out to 1000yards.  This is an excellent way to do it at a very reasonable entry fee.
Never shoot the hunter course myself, but it appears that if you are fairly comfortable at 200yards on game and want to improve out to 4or5 hundred, you will.

Thanks Brett and Augustis Ranch for setting this all up and allowing us to shoot again.
